Australian Women Preach

I met some of the team behind Australian Women Preach, at a conference in Melbourne last year. The team invited me to present a reflection / homily / sermon for the podcast, and it’s been released for this Sunday.

The podcast follows the Revised Common Lectionary, Catholic version, so it may not be the gospel portion heard in the congregations of my own, Protestant, Uniting Church in Australia this week.

Perhaps it will be a welcome journey up the mountain with Jesus, Peter, James, and John, none-the-less.

I commend this podcast to you. It offers Catholic women a chance to preach that they do not otherwise enjoy. It also welcomes voices in solidarity from traditions that welcome women’s voices proclaiming the gospel from week to week. It is a joy to be one such voice in solidarity and friendship.
